The Steinbeis-Europa-Zentrum (SEZ) was founded in 1990 as the operational unit of the Commissioner for Europe of Baden-Württemberg's Minister of Finance and Economics. Main objectives of the SEZ are to promote transnational technology transfer and to stimulate the economic activity in Baden-Württemberg. Therefore, it supports companies - mainly small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) - as well as research organisations by offering information about EU funding programmes and by providing suitable partners for innovative European research projects. Moreover, it supports the management of such projects, gives assistance in the exploitation of research results and fosters the innovation process in industrial companies.
SEZ is partner within various networks such as the Enterprise Europe Network of the European Commission with close to 600 participating organisations in over 50 countries. It has over 20 years of experience in the management and monitoring of European research projects and has been involved in more than 35 EU projects during 2013.
Role in IMMODGEL
As both coordinator and partner, SEZ is not only responsible for the administrative and financial project management, but also for the communication and management of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR). It has direct contact to the European Commission (EC), acting as an intermediary between the scientific partners and SMEs involved in the project and the EC.
It is furthermore in charge of the dissemination of the results achieved in the frame of the IMMODGEL project and its promotion through the development of a corporate identity, maintenance of the website, coordination of publications and press releases and the development of an exploitation strategy.
In addition, it coordinates the communication within the Consortium and is responsible for event organisation, such as internal meetings and training sessions.
